For Framer
Framer video hosting and photo galleries your client can update.
Keep the Framer design you made. Put the photos, videos, and project pages in Dropl, paste one Embed, and let your client add new work from their phone.

The design ships. Then the media keeps changing.
Framer makes the site easy to build. Keeping its photos and videos current is a different job.
Uploaded video plays at full size
Framer serves uploaded videos as they are. A 4K file goes to a phone in 4K. For quality that adapts to the connection, Framer points you to YouTube or Vimeo.
Every new project is an editor session
A finished job means new photos, a new case study, and another publish. Your client can't add it without a seat in the Framer project.
Media counts against each site's plan
Videos and large photos served by Framer use that site's monthly bandwidth, and file uploads have size limits that depend on the plan.
What you get
Galleries, portfolios, and video for Framer sites
Everything renders inside one Embed, so your Framer layout and breakpoints stay yours.
A portfolio with a page per project
The Projects layout turns a showcase into a portfolio. Each project gets a title, description, cover, photos, videos, and details, and opens as its own page inside the embed.
Photo galleries that can hold video
Grid or collage layouts, category filter tabs, and a lightbox. Mix photos and videos in the same showcase and drag them into order.
Video that adapts to the connection
Every upload is encoded at several qualities, and the player picks what each visitor's connection can handle. Photos are resized and lazy loaded.
A player that fits the design
Set the player colors, the play button position, and which controls show. No ads, and the small Dropl logo can be turned off on the Dropl plan.
Clients add work without a Framer seat
Invite your client to their own portal. They upload photos and videos from their phone and only see their own workspace.
One pool for every client site
$15/month flat for unlimited client sites and team members, with 100 GB storage and 500 GB monthly delivery, pooled across every client site.
Setup
Add it to a Framer page
There's no plugin or component to install. You paste a short snippet into Framer's Embed.
- 1
Build the showcase in Dropl
Create a client site and a showcase, add photos and videos, and choose a grid, collage, or Projects layout. For a single video, upload it on its own.
- 2
Copy the embed code
Open the showcase or video and copy its embed code.
- 3
Insert an Embed in Framer
Open the Insert menu, search for Embed, and drag it onto the canvas. Switch it to HTML and paste the code.
- 4
Size it and publish
Set the Embed to fill the section's width and check its height at each breakpoint so nothing is cut off. Then publish and open the live page to check it.
Framer's docs don't list a plan requirement for the Embed component. A custom domain for your client needs a paid Framer site plan. If you turn on embed protection in Dropl, add the client's domain and the exact framer.app address you preview on.

Frequently asked questions
Can Framer host video?
Yes, with limits. Framer's Video component plays uploaded files and hosted MP4s, but it serves them unchanged, so there's no adaptive quality, and uploads have plan-based size limits (5 MB on the Free plan). Dropl hosts videos up to 20 GB each, encodes them at several qualities, and plays them in an ad-free player you paste into an Embed.
How do I add a photo gallery to Framer?
Create a showcase in Dropl and add your photos, plus any videos. Copy the embed code, then in Framer open Insert, search for Embed, switch it to HTML, and paste the code. Publish the site to see the gallery live.
Can I build a Framer portfolio with a page for each project?
Yes. Choose the Projects layout for the showcase and add each project with its title, description, cover, photos, videos, and details. The embed shows a card for every project, and clicking one opens its page inside the embed. The browser's back button returns to the list.
Can my client update the gallery without editing the Framer site?
Yes. Invite them to the client portal and they can upload photos and videos from their phone. They only see their own workspace, never your Framer project, and their changes show on the live site without a new publish.
Does Dropl media use my Framer bandwidth?
No. The photos and videos load from Dropl, so they count toward your Dropl delivery allowance, not the Framer site's bandwidth. The embed script loads asynchronously and reserves its space so the page doesn't jump.
Do I need a paid Framer plan to use the embed?
Framer's docs don't list a plan requirement for the Embed component. You'll need a paid Framer site plan for things like a custom domain. Dropl starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required.
How much does Dropl cost for Framer designers?
$15/month flat for unlimited client sites and team members, with 100 GB storage and 500 GB monthly delivery, pooled across every client site. Need more room? +100 GB storage and +500 GB delivery for $10/month per capacity pack. It isn't usage-based billing: the price only changes when you add or remove a pack.
