At the limits
What happens at the limits.
Exactly what changes on your clients' websites, and what doesn't.
Usage alerts at 80% and 100%
Account owners get an email when storage or monthly delivery reaches 80% and again at 100%. The Usage page shows both any time.
Storage full: new uploads pause
Everything already uploaded keeps loading on your clients' sites. New uploads wait until you free up space or add a capacity pack.
Delivery over: videos pause past 110%
Photos always keep loading. Videos keep playing up to 110% of the monthly delivery, then show as temporarily unavailable until your next billing month starts or you add a capacity pack, which brings them back right away. Each billing month starts fresh.
Automatic packs are opt-in
Turn on automatic capacity packs in Billing and we add one $10/month pack, prorated, when delivery reaches 100%, so videos never pause. Off by default; remove packs whenever you like.
Measured from CDN logs
Delivery is counted from CDN logs, which can lag by up to 3 hours, so alerts, automatic packs, and pauses can land a little after the line is crossed.
FAQ
Pricing questions, answered
Limits, cancellation, branding, and billing.
How much does Dropl cost?
One plan: $15/month, billed monthly. It includes unlimited client sites, unlimited galleries, the client upload portal, embeds, and the API, with 100 GB storage and 500 GB monthly delivery pooled across every site.
What is a capacity pack?
An optional add-on for when you need more room. Each pack is $10/month and adds 100 GB storage and 500 GB monthly delivery. Packs stack: $15/month for 100 GB storage and 500 GB delivery, $25/month for 200 GB storage and 1 TB delivery, $35/month for 300 GB storage and 1.5 TB delivery.
Is this usage-based billing?
No. Your bill is the plan plus any capacity packs you chose, and it only changes when you change it. Usage alerts at 80% and 100% tell you when you're getting close.
Can I add or remove capacity packs later?
Yes, any time from Billing. Changes are prorated on your next bill.
What happens when monthly delivery runs out?
Account owners get an email at 80% and at 100%. Photos always keep loading. Videos keep playing up to 110% of the allowance; past that, they show a short "temporarily unavailable" message until your next billing month starts or you add a capacity pack, which brings them back right away. To keep videos playing, turn on automatic capacity packs in Billing (off by default): when delivery reaches 100%, we add one pack for $10/month, prorated, and email you. Delivery is measured from CDN logs, so this can happen up to a few hours after the line is crossed. Each billing month starts fresh.
What happens when storage is full?
New uploads pause until you free up space or add a capacity pack. Everything already uploaded keeps loading on your clients' websites.
What happens to embedded galleries after the trial ends, or if I cancel?
After the trial: if you haven't chosen a plan, uploads stop when the 14 days are up and embeds keep working for 3 more days. Then galleries and videos show a short "temporarily unavailable" message on your clients' websites. Your media is kept for 30 days after the trial (we email at least 7 days before deleting it), and choosing a plan brings every embed back. After cancelling: everything keeps working until the end of the month you've paid for. When the subscription ends, uploads stop and embeds keep working for 7 more days, then show the same "temporarily unavailable" message. Your media is kept for 90 days after the subscription ends, and we email 30 days and again 7 days before deleting it. Resubscribing before then brings every embed back without touching the website's code. If a payment fails, everything keeps working while the card is retried.
Do client-facing galleries show Dropl branding?
Photo galleries don't: no logo, badge, or link. The video player, including videos inside a gallery, shows a small Dropl logo in the corner by default. You can turn it off in the player's appearance settings on the Dropl plan or during the trial. The client upload portal says "Powered by Dropl" by default; on the Dropl plan you can hide that and add your own logo, colors, and name in Branding settings.
What counts as monthly delivery?
The data your photos and videos use when people view them on your clients' websites, added up across every site in your account for the billing month.
Do you charge per client site or per team member?
No. Client sites, galleries, and team members are unlimited. Storage and delivery are shared by every site in your account.
Is there an annual plan?
No. Dropl is billed monthly, and you can cancel any time.
I'm on an older plan. Do I need to switch?
No. Older plans keep their limits and price for as long as you stay on them.
Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
No. Every new account gets 14 days free, with no credit card required. Add a card any time during the trial and you won't be charged until it ends.
Try it on your next client site.
Add a client workspace, upload their media, and connect one gallery.
