Elfsight alternative
An Elfsight alternative with media hosting built in
Dropl hosts your clients' photos and videos and turns them into galleries you embed on any site. One plan at $15/month flat covers every client site, and clients add new work themselves.
Why switch
Built for agencies that run many client galleries
Elfsight is a large library of widgets. Dropl does one job: host client media and show it well on the sites you build.
One flat bill
$15/month flat. No count of widgets or views per app. Your bill only changes if you add a capacity pack.
Unlimited sites and galleries
Add a client site for every website you look after, and as many showcases as each one needs. Team members are unlimited too.
Video hosting included
Upload videos up to 20 GB. They play in an ad-free player with adaptive streaming, so you don't need a YouTube or Vimeo account behind the gallery.
Photos and videos in one gallery
Mix photos and videos in a grid or collage, add category filter tabs, and drag to reorder. The Projects layout gives each project its own page inside the embed.
Clients update it themselves
Invite a client to the portal. They upload from their phone, see only their own workspace, and the gallery on their site updates on its own.
Fast pages by default
Photos are resized and lazy loaded automatically, and embeds reserve their space so the page doesn't jump while they load.

Trade-offs
When Elfsight is the better pick
Elfsight does things Dropl doesn't. If these matter most, it may suit you better.
You need many kinds of widgets
Elfsight covers reviews, social feeds, forms, popups, and dozens more under one account. Dropl only does galleries and video.
Your videos already live on YouTube or social
Elfsight's Video Gallery pulls in a YouTube channel, playlist, TikTok, or Instagram Reels and adds new videos automatically. Dropl plays videos you upload to Dropl.
You want captions, links, or a free plan
Elfsight's Photo Gallery supports titles, descriptions, links, and watermarks on each image, and its free plan has no time limit. Dropl gallery captions are coming soon, and Dropl has a free trial rather than a free plan.
Switching
Move a gallery from Elfsight to Dropl
Most galleries move over in one sitting. Your Elfsight widget keeps working until you remove it.
- 1
Start your trial and add client sites
14-day free trial, no credit card required. Add a client site for each website that has an Elfsight gallery.
- 2
Upload the original photos and videos
Drag in the photos you used in Elfsight, plus the video files behind any YouTube or Vimeo links you want Dropl to host.
- 3
Build the showcase
Pick a grid, collage, or Projects layout, add category filter tabs, and drag items into order.
- 4
Swap the embed code
Replace the Elfsight snippet with the Dropl snippet in the same HTML or embed block. It works on Webflow, Framer, WordPress, Next.js, and plain HTML.
- 5
Invite your client
Send a portal invite so the client can add new work from their phone, then remove the Elfsight widget from that site.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Elfsight alternative for photo and video galleries?
If you build websites for clients and want the media hosted for you, Dropl is made for that. It hosts photos and videos, shows them in galleries you embed with one snippet, and lets clients update them. One plan at $15/month flat covers unlimited client sites. If you need reviews, social feeds, or forms as well, Elfsight covers far more widget types.
Does Elfsight host videos?
Elfsight's Video Gallery doesn't take video file uploads. It plays videos from YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram Reels, Twitch, or a link to a file you host elsewhere. Dropl hosts the video files you upload and streams them in its own ad-free player.
How does Elfsight pricing work for agencies?
Elfsight prices each app by monthly views and number of widgets. Views are counted every time a page with the widget loads, and they add up across every widget of that app and every site it's on. If you go over, the widget is hidden until the next refresh date or until you upgrade. Projects and collaborators for client work start on the Pro plan.
What happens on Dropl if a client site gets a lot of traffic?
Your plan includes 100 GB storage and 500 GB monthly delivery, pooled across every client site. Photos always keep loading. Videos keep playing up to 110% of monthly delivery; past that, they pause until next month or until you add a capacity pack (+100 GB storage and +500 GB delivery for $10/month per capacity pack). You can turn on automatic packs so videos never pause. If storage fills up, only new uploads pause.
Can my clients update their gallery without me?
Yes. Invite them to the Dropl client portal. They upload photos and videos from their phone, see only their own workspace, and the gallery on their website updates automatically. You don't have to edit the site.
Does Dropl work on Webflow, Framer, and WordPress?
Yes. The same embed snippet, a div and an async script, works on Webflow, Framer, WordPress, Next.js, and plain HTML. Paste it into an embed or custom HTML block.
Can Dropl replace all my Elfsight widgets?
Only the galleries and video. Dropl has no social feed, form, or popup widgets, and its reviews widget is coming soon. Many agencies use Dropl for galleries and keep other tools for the rest.
